Review Singapore
Marina Bay Sands:
The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore had been on my list since it opened its doors end of 2010. Last year I had the opportunity to take a closer look at the property. The first thing I noticed about Singapore is that the city is really clean. There is no trash on the side of the streets and neat park areas are lining up all the way from the airport to Marina Bay.
I checked into an executive club suite on the 47rd floor. The executive club guests have access to the rooftop club including complimentary breakfast, tea time and evening cocktail. Situated next to the huge infinity pool it offers a fantastic view on downtown Singapore and the hundrets of container vessels anchoring in the bay.
Especially the evening cocktail is really a good deal as there are plenty of drinks available, including champagne and a good selection of food. Considering the high prices for alcohol in Singapore this more than compensates the higher rates for executive rooms.
After the evening cocktail it was time to explore the huge casino with its more than 600 tables and 2500 slots machines. They offer everything from classic roulette and blackjack to craps and plenty of asian games like sic bo and baccarat.
Roulette is my favorite game so I checked out the tables with european roulette first. Even though there are so many tables the casino is always busy in the evening hours. After a while and with 250 singapore dollars less I discovered the craps tables. Being a rookie in craps I soon found some friendly Chinese guys who quickly got me into the game and explained me the rules including superstitious special moves. Obviously it worked because after 2 hours I left the table with 1500,- SGD.
Done with gambling for the evening I spent a good part of my earnings in the KuDeTA club (now Ce La Vi) on the rooftop. The other days and nights of my 4 nights stay I spent between relaxing at the infinity pool, shopping and enjoying the hotel amenities.
Conclusion:Singapore and the Marina Bay Sands are definitely worth a visit! The hotel is just great and perfect for 4-7 days of leisure.
It’s a 9!
